The worse thing that happens when you buy new carpet is that something causes a stain. Stains can be caused by accidental spills as well as dirty shoes in high traffic areas. This happens to everyone but you can do something about it. The best tip that we can give anyone is to clean as much of the spill as possible before it soaks in and saturates the carpet fibers. The longer a stain is allowed to dry and harden, the more difficult it will be to remove. Cleaning up spills immediately will help prevent a stain from becoming permanent. Always try to clean the stain with cold water first. Don't rub or wipe the stain because that may damage the fibers of your carpets and may also result in spreading the stain further, blot with a white cloth to remove it. Only use a stronger cleaning product if these tips will not remove the stain.
Removing Wax from your Carpet
One of the easiest methods to remove wax is to heat the area with a household iron. Turn the iron on to the lowest setting, you don't want to burn your carpet and cause more damage. Wait until the iron is hot and t
ake a damp white towel and place it over the wax and fold the towel so that it is double layered. Place the iron on the towel and work in a circular motion. Do not leave the iron in just one spot as you don't want to singe your carpet. After about ten seconds lift the towel and see if it has drawn out any of the wax. If it has then rotate the towel to another area that is clean and repeat this process several times. Large areas covered by wax may not come clean and depending upon the color of the wax your carpet may retain a stain.
Other Tips for Removing Spills
Some common stains that are harder to remove, like oil-based food spills, can be treated after you blot them with water and a clean towel by applying shaving cream and allowing it to dry for 30 minutes then rinse the area with a mild mixture of vinegar and water. Should you have to clean up a red wine spill use club soda instead of water. If your faced with an ink stain, blot with alcohol and a towel then allow to dry and repeat the process until the stain comes out. Only use a stronger cleaning product if these tips will not remove the stain.

Tips for Stubborn Stains
It always helps when you know exactly what a stain is caused by, but sometimes an educated guess is all you have. Your children were playing and you did not find the spot until a few days later. Is it too late to get the stain out, probably not but you may have to try something a little stronger than what was
mentioned earlier.
Take Care When Choosing Your Cleaning Products
Most cleaning products that you can purchase will not pose a health risk or have negative impacts on your environment. Its important that you always read carefully and follow the instructions on chemical cleaning products before using them. Some chemical cleaning products do contain dangerous and toxic chemicals that can be hazardous, so as a rule its best to choose a product with the fewest amount of chemicals. Products that are specifically for stain and spot removal are generally very harsh and contain formulations of either high acid or high alkaline chemicals. Protect your eyes with goggles and wear rubber gloves when using these products. Be sure to read and follow the instructions provided with the spot remover, they usually have recommendations for applying different strengths so it is best to try the weakest mixture first. Its advisable to avoid using products that contain tetrachlorethylene, this chemical poses an extreme health risk to the person using it as well as their family members and pets. When using a spot remover the manufacturer's instructions will list the kinds of stains it will be effective for removing. Not all carpets are made of the same materials and they react differently to some chemicals. Always t est the spot remover on a hidden area of the carpet to be sure it will not fade or change the color of your carpet before you apply it to a visible area. After the use of one of these products its important to neutralize the area, t
he products instructions should recommend a neutralizing agent, if one is not specified rinse the area thoroughly with water.
